Sukima-onna or The Girl from the Gap is an urban legend that originated in Japan.
According to the myth, there's a mysterious spirit that lives in the dark gaps between counters and appliances.



Sukima-onna or The Girl from the Gap


If a person meets her gaze, she'll ask them to play a game of hide and seek with her.
No matter what they say, she'll vanish and hide and seek will start.


Hide and Seek


So long as player naver sees her again, they're safe.
But if they ever meet her eyes again, she'll drag them into the gap (hell) and they'll be stuck playing the game with unsuspecting residents for the rest of eternity.


Dragging into the Gap/Hell


After that, she'll begin to hunt down her next victim.
The only way you could win is if you're either horribly blinded or something along those lines, or if you never see her again.


Gazing through gaps


This legend seems pretty random, but given the number of tiny gaps between appliances and pieces of furniture people have in their homes, it would be hard to avoid losing this deadly game with her.

History:

Nobody is sure of the origins of this story. It may have been created to freak people out since there are small spaces all around people's homes, but no one is truly sure of why it was made.
